Tartan Forever

Today's song:
(Note her kickass eyebrows)

My life has recently been comprised of the following things:
  • Orange Is The New Black- a show about a women's prison. Two words which will sway anyone to watch this: lesbian sex.
  • Topshop- the place has been pleasantly surprising me with good shit.
  • Joey Bada$$- album Summer Knights on replay.
  • The Beginning Boutique Blogger's Breakfast- phenomenal to meet all the creative minds of local bloggers.
  • Fishnets- the best way to assert yourself as a bad motherfucker.
  • Turtlenecks- if a shirt and a scarf had a baby.

Today's Outfit:
Turtleneck Crop from ASOS
Green Tartan Jacket from Op Shop
Blue Tartan Midi Skirt from Topshop

Fishnet Top and Stockings from Ebay

Imma Do Me, Imma Make Mine

Click 4 sum music: You, My Everything

Hai there and welcome.

Recently I've realised I think way too much about other people:
How will they feel if I do this?
Will they be pleased or disappointed?
What will they think of me?
And THEN, comes: what should I do?
It frustrates me that I base so many of my decisions on other people: how can I call myself independent and free-willed? I am done. Done, with being "too nice" and having, at times, an obscenely high tolerance for bullshit. Live your life for yourself and your own pleasures. It's impossible to never step on anyone's toes.

Yung Lean perfectly sums up this entire blog post:
"Imma do me, imma make mine."

Shoutout to anyone who's asked me for advice the last couple weeks and putting up with my super helpful responses:
"fuck em do what you want"
"if you want it fucking take it"
"fuck society"
"just fuck him lol"

Fun fact: my friend's mum once thought I had Tourettes (I wonder why).

This week we have a look featuring some of my new buys:
Hair Fluffies from the one and only @highrack_tm, nab your own here!
Top is from Dollskill.
Jeans were a bargain from the Topshop sale.
Lippy is one I mixed using OCC the lip tars.
My Kanken backpack is my life (thanks diego for the recommendation): it's miraculously easy and comfortable to carry.
Teardrop choker from @sadeyes.apparel

I've been wearing this watermelon top as a bra it's very versatile.

So Fluffy I'm Gonna Die

Click here for mood music: Easy Yoke

My favourite quote to date:

"There is nothing worse in life than being ordinary."
- Angela Hayes, American Beauty.

Yes, I am encouraging everyone to take a step out of their comfort zone.
No, this is not another be-yourself bullshit post.

Be the person you WANT to be: that is what will bring you satisfaction.

I watched a beautiful Ad by the makeup brand Dermablend which challenges the notions of 'be exactly what you are, don't try to change yourself'.

What I'm trying to say is: don't be afraid to cover, upgrade, manipulate, or embellish yourself. Social scepticism hold us back everyday. What I get all the time is, "I wish I could wear what you wear". BITCH YOU CAN. There is nothing physically holding you back. "Fuck em'," I say. People are secretly grateful when you take the first step into the unknown; it paves the way for others to do the same.

Change it up, keep people guessing, channel Blair Witch one day and Barbie the next, because you can and you have my 100% approval.

PS: wearing a turtleneck top to a ScHoolboy Q concert is among one of the worst decisions I've ever made (no photos of outfit sorry, too turnt)

Today's ootd featuring fluffy scrunchies by @highrack_tm!

The Blair Bitch Project (The Clueless Witch)

Click for Mood Music: 5

Hello lovelies,
The last two nights have been insane (in a great way).
Now, in the safety and comfort of my own bed, I reflect on my escapades.
It has come to my attention I'm a reckless bastard and it is a miracle I'm still healthy and alive.
If life were a social network nearly everything I do would be accompanied with a #thisishowgirlsdie hashtag.

Here are some situations I found myself in where I could have easily died (or faced other perils) had I been more unfortunate:

Getting incredibly intoxicated on a dark, empty rooftop carpark.
What happened: a couple cars drove past but we played it cool.
What could have happened: we accidentally witness a drug deal and get taken hostage having seen too much.

Sneaking into the Hilton pool in the middle of the night, trippin' balls.
What happened: no one tried to stop us, we randomly picked a level to go to and lo and behold that was the exact level the pool was (if that isn't magic I don't know what is), we got in without a key card and there were a load of fresh towels for use. Oh and the pool was heated.
What could have happened: security picks up that two dodgy-looking teenage girls are walking into a 5 star hotel and intercept us- we're arrested and charged with unlawful entry.

Skinny-dipping in a hotel pool in which you are not staying.
What happened: we didn't want wet underwear so there was really only one way.
What could have happened: some security dude is just chillin' doing his job when he sees on his monitor two girls stripping in the pool area, he comes down to investigate, we're arrested (naked) and he leaks the video to a news-station or a porn-site and hauls in the $.

Walking down a dead-end alleyway at 2am.
What happened: we didn't realise the other end was closed off, we speed walked straight back out.
What could have happened: we are kidnapped/ we are murdered/ we stumble into a sacrificial ceremony and they offer our lives in exchange for healthy crops.

Hitchhiking.
What happened: I tried to walk to the busstop from a friend's place, got lost, and my phone was on 1% battery so I had to ask someone for directions, they offered me a ride and I was tired so I said yes and hopped in.
What could have happened: They drive me to their sex dungeon instead of my busstop.

Moral of the story: don't do any of the above if you value your life.

AIGHT
This week we have a special piece:
The Cher Set by Glitters For Dinner (gfdstore)!
Inspired by the impeccable Cher Horowitz from Clueless (fun fact: the movie was made the year I was born), this set just kills me.
Lipstick by Lime Crime (Velvetine/Gothatine in 'Salem' a matte chocolate brown)
Enjoy :)

Angelica Underhill Collaboration

Hello darlings
This week I have a collab with the talented Angelica Underhill @mewmewtant on instagram!
Check out her portfolio here.

Time
I was told a small insight which shook me: each year, as our lives progress, becomes shorter and shorter. Not literally. But it FEELS that way. Think about it: when we were five, a year was a whole fifth of everything we knew, one fifth of our entire reality. As I sit here, eighteen years old, it strikes me that my perception of time has changed. One year is not nearly as significant as it once was. I've experienced eighteen 'one year's, and very soon it will be nineteen. Sorry if this seems awfully foreboding, what I'm trying to say is, it's easy to sit back and let the years flow past as they seem to come faster and faster. It is exceptional, no it is crucial, however, to slow down every once in a while and just enjoy, savour and immerse yourself in the moment you're experiencing.
It will only happen once so don't miss it.
As they say in latin: Carpe Diem
"Seize The Day"
